So, what is happening at the Factory?
During the month of March 2019, we were looking forward to creating the new vegetable garden which runs alongside the factory in Kenya where The Jambo Collection products are hand-made.
Well, I am delighted to say that the vegetable garden is now in operation and is being tended by the gardener Toilas – please see the photos attached of Toilas in action!
So far, the following vegetables have been planted:
- Chilies
- Beetroot
- Onions
- Tomatoes
- Courgettes
- Coriander
- Cucumber
- Sweet Peppers
- Aubergines
The fact that local people directly benefit from the products being made for The Jambo Collection is hugely important to me, and it is something that I take great pleasure in seeing and hearing about. This vegetable patch has just begun its journey and it will just get bigger and better and be a valuable source of fresh vegetables for the employees of the factory and their families.
The Jambo Collection is all about creating a sustainable, healthy and proud way of life for local Kenyan people which will last into the future.
